Day 12
Rudolph

This is such a classic book / movie for our families. We have always watched this (as children and then as adults, before we had children!)

Reindeer Recipe

Reindeer Food

Breakfast Balls

This time I made this recipe in the standup mixer. I am not sure why, but they turned out even better than they usually do! Maybe they packing process with a standup mixer makes the ingredients mush together better. Whatever the reason, it was super easy, less messy, and I can’t keep them in my freezer! They have been disappearing so fast!

Ingredients:
1 heaping cup of peanut butter
1/2 cup almond butter
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons coconut oil
2 cups rolled oats
1 cup dried fruit
1 cup nuts (diced pecans, crushed walnuts, crushed peanuts, crushed mixed nuts – whatever you would like)
1/2 cup chia seeds
1/2 cup coconut flakes
1/4 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
I think that’s all we used. But we made two batches. One had no chocolate chips and extra nuts/fruits. One had more almond butter than peanut butter. It really is whatever your taste preferences are. My 7-year-old LOVES to “create the recipe”. And I love how it’s pretty much amendable. Whatever she puts in will taste good. When we’re done mixing, I use a scooper to measure and put into mini muffin tins. I find it to be less messy than hand-rolling but have done them both ways. They don’t need to be perfect so I basically scoop into the muffin tins and go.

Pretend Play

My little ones often dress up as reindeer, Santa, or Santa’s helpers.
They like to pretend to deliver packages, fly in the sky, and fill each other’s stockings.
We have a little Santa beard I found in the $1 Spot at Target a few years ago.
And we found reindeer antlers to use, too.
If you don’t have these props, feel free to make some – or just play pretend with a Santa hat.
My girls have little felt stockings we made hanging from their beds where they leave love notes for one another throughout the month.
