I made it to Grandma’s house this week to get inventory under control and while we were hanging out [playing] in the new stock room the kids were pulling out products from their bins and playing. And Lincoln (almost 2) found the Balance Balls. At first he was content to grab each bag (packaged) and […]

Friday Featured Product – Balance Balls

Today I went to a Aldi with all three littles in tow. As I was coming out of the store to put our groceries into our rental car (we are in FL right now), it starts to rain. I get to the car, put Lincoln in so he’s not all over the place while I […]

Taking Up Space – an Encounter and Mindfulness Work in Progress

Spring has sprung and, although colder outside than I would like, we are feeling pretty spring inside our house right now. Before I went to bed last night I prepared an invitation to “garden” sensory bin for the girls to find in the morning. I used black beans as the base, some wooden scoops, wooden […]

How does your garden grow?

This has been our Summer Sensory Bin. The Beach. We have been busy reading and exploring the sand and ocean this year so I thought it would be fun to bring the beach home with us. Buga likes writing her letters in the sand with the driftwood and I love the calming sound of her […]

Summer Sensory Bin

I made these for one of our bug themed learning centers. Buga has a really good sense for numbers for a three year old and this reinforces one-to-one ratios, counting, and numeral recognition.

Ladybug Counting

We have updated our Sensory Bin a couple weeks ago to a Spring Theme. I love how earthy it turned out and Buga is enjoying the novelty of getting her hands dirty and playing around with the new things she discovers. I used black beans for the “dirt” and moss for the “grass” in the […]

Spring Sensory Bin 2011

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Retelling These Story Sticks were props for Buga’s Birthday party not long ago. Instead of tossing them I, of course, thought they could serve SOME purpose (I have the hardest time throwing anything away!) Needless to say, this was a good garbage-saving decision as Buga has had a lot of educational […]

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Story Retelling

These are the books we have on our rotating bookshelf for Valentine’s Day. They are all about love, Valentine’s Day, and showing we care. I love having a bookshelf that rotates books based on what we are learning…it’s a great way to carry our themes throughout the day. We also do activities based on the […]

Valentine’s Book Shelf

Buga and I have been enjoying “school time” every day. She looks forward to it SO much. She enjoys it. She thrives on it. She asks for it. I love that she is so excited to sit down and work on critical skills. I like that it is one-on-one time for just her and I. […]

Kumon Workbooks

As a way to reuse and recycle those beautiful Christmas cards that we received, I cut them up to create mini “puzzles” for Buga. It seems simple enough, and it is….but she enjoys putting the pieces together to find a a beautiful picture. And she likes that each picture has a story behind it.
