This timeless toy mixes the beauty of shape with the cognitive function of puzzle. The seemingly simple task of putting all seven shapes back into the wooden, square tray is surprisingly challenging for problem-solvers both young and old. When you fit them in, just right, knowing that last piece will complete the square, is such a rewarding “I Did It!”, moment – every time. This hand-cut puzzle and tray make a unique handmade learning gift. Each set comes with 7 shapes, hand painted on one side (pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple); and natural wood on the back - making this learning toy a grow-with-me material for your little explorer as well as your older cryptologist. Each tray comes with a set of pattern cards so little ones can do big work. One side is a color-coded graphic so novice puzzle-builders can put together meaningful pictures using the Tangram shapes. The backside of each pattern card has black silhouettes to engage older, problem-solving pros. 

Each Tangram puzzle tray measures approximately 11” square. The puzzle pieces are slightly raised in the tray making it easier to get in and out. Each of the 7 shape pieces has been handpainted with a soy based, watercolor wash and the whole puzzle has been lightly coated in beeswax and jojoba oil. Each set comes in a drawstring pouch for easy cleanup and portability but the wooden puzzle tray would be a beautiful addition to a work station, coffee table, or materials shelf. Each set comes with several pattern card challenges to expand learning through play opportunities.
