“Mom, this was a really happy day.” Were the words my four-year-old shared with me right after we sang our Loving Kindness and right before she fell asleep. This was a really happy day. ……………………………….. But, you know what? It didn’t begin that way. Or middle that way. This morning began with several monumental tantrums […]

Moments – parenting through chaos

Three months of being displaced while the girls’ room was being repaired. Three months solo parenting while on the road, hopping from gracious family member to family member while we explored our hot Summer days and Daddy tirelessly worked his regular job and his home-repair hardhat with Poppop. It has been a long, fun, extremely […]

New Shared Girls’ Bedroom

You know that post from the @KidsActivitiesBlog that went around about “How to Make Breakast Balls”? The original post and recipe can be found here: http://kidsactivitiesblog.com/59088/breakfast-balls The concept of Breakfast Balls absolutely intrigued me from mys first read. Banana Breakfast Cookies

This Summer we chose to make Yellow Play Dough with Gold Glitter and Coconut Extract (it smells like suntan lotion and the beach!) I rotate out […]

Beach Play Dough

Oh Christmas Tree!! Oh Christmas Tree!! How Felt-y Are Your Branches! I recently had the idea for Buga’s room – a Christmas Tree! I used to decorate my room growing up for all the holidays, Christmas in particular and I thought it would be fun for Buga to have her own little place to decorate […]

Oh Christmas Tree

I am always trying to come up with ways Buga can help me in the kitchen. She loves cooking – and eating – and I find that when she participates in cooking, she is more likely to eat our creations. It’s a great way to teach beginning food Science, and Math while having fun and […]

Beach in a Peach

I don’t know what it is about little kids wanting to be DIZZY. Even I, as a child, remembering the thrill and fascination of a spinning chair or Tilter-World. Whatever the amusement, Buga enjoys that very same pleasure. It makes me dizzy watching her, but she cracks up in hilarity…which just makes me smile 🙂

You’re Making Me Dizzy!

We were putting up our Christmas Tree lights and Layla was pointing to the bulbs, trying to name the colors. Then she touched them. “Hot. Hot.” the blowing sound “I cool down.” more sounds.

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

When I walked in the living room this evening here is what I found: I suppose the puppy was hungry and Layla shared some food with him… We vacuumed them up so when she wakes up in the morning she will probably think the dog actually ate them – oh to be young again.
